Indigenous Education Partnership Program Recipient 2018 - Ceanna Wood

Ceanna is currently attending the University of Alberta, where she is working towards a Bachelor of Arts. Having a longstanding enthusiasm with regards to films and television programs, and a keen interest in their production, she has chosen to major in Drama. After completing her degree in 2022, she plans on moving to Vancouver or Los Angeles, the hub of the American film industry, to pursue a career as a casting director or producer.

As a post-secondary student, Ceanna hopes to inspire youth from Plamondon to pursue a post-secondary education in a field that truly interests them.

Ceanna expressed that receiving the Indigenous Education Partnership Program scholarship has helped to alleviate some of the stress associated with university life, which can become very expensive. “It has helped me to focus more on school than on my financial situation,” she says, “which I am grateful for.”
