Alberta-Pacific Forest Industries Inc. (“Al-Pac”) is committed to providing a website that respects your privacy and protects the personal information that you share with us.
Generally, you can browse through our website without giving us any information about yourself. Al-Pac does not collect information that personally identifies individuals, except when individuals provide such specific information on a voluntary basis.
In all such cases, Al-Pac will collect only information that is voluntarily provided by you and undertakes that such information will be kept strictly confidential.
This privacy statement is intended to let you know what information we gather and how we use it.
Information we Gather
Personal information means any information that may be used to identify an individual, including, but not limited to, a first and last name, an email address, a home, postal or other physical address, or other contact information such as title, date of birth, gender, occupation, industry, personal interests, or other information required in order to provide a service that you have requested.
All personal information held or collected by Al-Pac is protected under the Alberta Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). We will only retain the information for as long it is reasonably required. After it is no longer required, it will either be destroyed or rendered non-identifying.
When you browse our website, you do so anonymously. We don’t automatically collect personal information.
We do log your IP address (the internet address of your computer) so that we know which parts of our website you visit and how long you spend there, however we do not link your IP address to any personal information.
Like many other websites, the Al-Pac website may use a standard technology called a “cookie” to collect information about how you use the site.

What we do with the Information that we Collect
When personal information is collected, we will inform you at the point of collection the purpose for the collection. Al-Pac will not transfer your personal information to third parties without your consent.
Al-Pac does reserve the right however to perform statistical analysis of user behavior and characteristics, in order to measure interest in, and use of, the various sections of its site, so as to improve design and navigation, plan site enhancements and measure overall site effectiveness. These statistics do not include any personally identifiable information.

Automatic Logging of Session Data
To help us better serve you, we continuously and automatically collect generic, non-personal information about visits to our website. The following points describe the nature of the information collected in our web server logs:
