  • Aboriginal Affairs

    Progressive Aboriginal Relations (PAR) is a certification program that confirms corporate performance in Aboriginal relations at the Bronze, Silver or Gold level. Certified companies promote their level with a PAR logo signalling to communities that they are: good business partners, great places to work and committed to prosperity in Aboriginal communities.

    INAC (Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada) /AWPI Aboriginal Workforce Participation Initiative Award of Distinction, recognizes businesses in Alberta that demonstrate outstanding achievement in Aboriginal business, employment and training.

  • Business Operations

    The EPCOR Triple Bottom-Line Award is given to a business that demonstrates good performance against the Triple Bottom-Line, including financial success, environmental commitment and achievement and community involvement.

    Western Economic Diversification Canada’s Export Award of Distinction is given to an organization that demonstrates outstanding achievement in exporting products or services outside of Canada’s borders.

    Canada’s Top 100 Employers is a national competition that recognizes the employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional workplaces and progressive human resource policies. Detailed reasons for selection, explaining why each winner is chosen ensures transparency. Employers complete a single application for the national competition, plus 19 popular special-interest and regional competitions.

     

    Alberta’s Top Employers is an annual competition organized by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers. This special designation recognizes the Alberta employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work.

    The FSC® Leadership Award recognizes excellence in the use of FSC-certified products and commitment to responsible forest management.

    • 2018 – Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) Leadership Award – For managing more than 14.5 million acres of FSC-certified forest, the largest contiguous area certified in the world.(FSC®-C022642)

     

    Emerald Awards – the Emerald Awards recognize and celebrate outstanding environmental achievements of businesses, individuals, not-for-profit associations, community groups, youth and governments across Alberta.

    The Reclamation Award reflects the importance of long-term corporate commitment to reclamation. The selections are made by Alberta Environment & Water in an independent process.

    EnviroVista Champion status is awarded to organizations that promote environmental leadership and recognizes environmental excellence.

    Wildlife Habitat Council Award recognizes excellence in corporate conservation.

    Canada’s Climate Change Voluntary Challenges and Registry (VCR) Leadership and Honorable Mention Award recognizes Canadian companies and organizations that voluntarily commit to individual actions that limit net greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

    Since 1926, Pulp & Paper’s Safest Mill in Canada award commends mills that achieve an outstanding safety record in an annual ranking of the lowest total recordable incident rates.
