Community Enhancement Program Recipient 2020: The Boyle Healthcare Centre Auxiliary
On October 20, our team members presented a $25,000 grant to this year’s Community Enhancement Program (CEP) recipient, the Boyle Healthcare Centre Auxiliary. The auxiliary members received the good news during a surprise visit from our Public Affairs team at their morning meeting.
Since its establishment in 2001, the auxiliary raises funds to purchase medical equipment, furnishings or renovations that benefit patient care at the healthcare centre. The auxiliary members also provide the centre with volunteer services. Their most recent project involved fundraising for a new patio at the centre to help patients enjoy the outdoors during the warmer months. The CEP grant will go towards purchasing a bedside cardiac/vital sign monitor to improve the care for critical patients.
Through the CEP, we distribute a maximum grant of $25,000, semi-annually, to a non-profit organization within 100 km of our Millsite. The grant helps non-profit organizations with small facility upgrades, expansion and development projects. As a supportive community member, we aspire to help our neighbours make our area a better place. The CEP provides us with an opportunity to give back to the community we are proud to live and operate in.
Over the years, our CEP has supported various non-profit organizations within our surrounding communities. Some of our previous recipients include the Kikino Community Activities Society, Plamondon & Wandering River Community Resource Society, Aurora Middle School in Lac La Biche, Athabasca Volunteer Fire Department, Prosvita Community Association, Grassland Volunteer Fire Department and Boyle & District Senior Association. We are thrilled to have had the chance to help fund many diverse projects.
Many local non-profit groups have been working even harder over this past year. With health and safety at the forefront of people’s minds, we felt that healthcare should be our focus area to assist our residents’ well-being. The auxiliary will benefit from a helping hand during these challenging times. We are honoured to donate to such a worthy cause. Congratulations to the Boyle Healthcare Centre Auxiliary!
