Operational Research

Perhaps the most important and challenging part of ecosystem management is putting research and theory into practice. Communication between scientists and woodlands operations is crucial to the success of implementing ecosystem management practices. Alberta-Pacific's goal is to ensure our operational procedures remain ecologically and economically viable.

Continued evaluation of current techniques and possible alternatives will help us maintain best practices within all aspects of our operations. Al-Pac's operational research program is designed to perform industry reviews, as well as liaise with other internal and external stakeholders to determine where trials and exploratory research should be conducted. The purpose of the program is to work with Al-Pac team members, contractors and other partners associated with woodlands and environmental sciences in order to initiate, conduct, and implement various operational research projects where required.
