Road To Hope
Driven to help cancer patients
Alberta-Pacific is familiar with the challenges of operating in a rural area and wanted to find and fill a void in our communities by starting a program that would help those in need.
Research was conducted and in 2009, a decision was made to start a foundation to help patients in need of cancer-related medical treatments get to their appointments outside of their home community. The Road to Hope Community Support Foundation was born.
Road to Hope is a partnership between Alberta-Pacific Forest Industries and members of the communities it serves. The foundation not only provides transportation but also offers support to patients.
The organization’s board of directors is comprised of members of the community including Al-Pac team members. Much like volunteer drivers from the community, team members are also getting behind the wheel and are also pitching-in to raise funds for the foundation.
Road to Hope is making a difference in our communities one trip at a time. Since its inception, drivers have travelled thousands of kilometers and hundreds of hours to support their neighbours and friends.
The foundation has enjoyed the help of area businesses, organizations and individuals who have made financial contributions to keep drivers on the road. Alberta-Pacific supports the organization and will continue to value the difference Road to Hope is making in our communities.
