Since 1995, the program assists Aboriginal students in achieving their post-secondary goals through financial support and mentorship. The program provides full-tuition up to five years for a degree program and three years for a diploma program. To be considered for the program, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
Have First Nation, Inuit or Métis Status.
Reside within our Forest Management Agreement Area for at least one year prior to applying for the scholarship.
Be accepted or returning to full-time studies at a credited post-secondary institution.
Demonstrate a financial need, community involvement and a positive attitude.
Through our partnership with the Méits Nation of Alberta Region 1, we offer the Métis Region 1 Scholarship. Each year, we award one eligible student with $1,500 in support of their academic goals. To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
Have Métis Status.
Be accepted or returning to full-time studies at an accredited post-secondary institution.
